I Want to Make a Difference In the World

In the end i think meaning is subjective, and it's really about finding your meaning and your values. Having a lasting impact on the future does matter a great deal, and is worth pursuing, even if it's a very hard thing to do, for me at least :)

The only way to make a difference in the world is to end it.

@Anonymartyr That's one way to look at it

@Anonymartyr What are you talking about? You don't think we can all make a difference?
@Carazaa A person can make a very small change for a very short time. But people being the way they are will either turn back to destructive ways or fall in with the people who stand by and do nothing. The people who try to bring positive change become ostracized, marginalized, gag-ordered into silence or martyred.
I have been fighting for positive change my whole life. It has cost me everything and gained me nothing. I only do it because by the time I was born there was nothing for me in this world anyway. There's no women to marry and have children with, there is no respectable employment anywhere and even volunteer organizations are corrupt.
I beat city hall all alone by newspaper interview on behalf of the homeless in this city of a quarter million. They launched a new housing program. I have shelter for a few more years then I lose everything and return to being a homeless cripple.
Each persion must individually decide to change for the better and then act on it. Trying to motivate other people is futile.

@Anonymartyr Sadly you arent wrong, true change requires resources, time and people working together, and it's a lot harder to get people working for less profit, as a general rule.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, and i can understand why you'd see it that way, although it's so hard to judge something like this though, so many variables and possibilities. I do genuinely believe that technology in the near future will reach possibilities that were never posible before, allowing for massive changes, sadly any one big change for the better, always seems to have an accompanying negative effect
@Axelerator Technology simply spreads social corruption faster. The solution lies within each individual voluntarily and no amount of external effort from others will implement any successful positive change.
First fix yourself
Then live the example
If you set a good example, perhaps some will learn and emulate.
Any large attempt at implementing positive change has been met by public opposing it as "opression" or infringement of rights and freedoms.

@Anonymartyr God bless you for working hard to make the world better and help the homeless, among others. God sees it and we are not working in vain. But all we can do is our best, one day at a time. We sow seeds. It will take root or not. God has promised that his word will not return void. We do what we can, pray, and give it to God to take care of after that.

Take good care of yourself also, not just everyone else! Don't neglect yourself! You are important too!
@Carazaa Thank you. My impression of the prophets and patriarchs was that they were lonely too, even though surrounded by people.

i agree with that as well, and what i meant in relation to technology is more helath related issues, removing a lot of suffering from people's lives through various means.
But no doubt, if people understood themselves and were better and understanding others, the world would be a better place. Sadly that's a very long term goal, but something worth striving for.
Yeah large decisive action or change is harder to make in our current western societies, on account of people's opinions having to be accounted for. On the other side, with something like fascism, that would limit individual rights, actions can be taken "for the greater good". But as we know that often gets warped into something else entirely.

@Carazaa I think people have been largely the same for a very long time, the only thing that changes is our means, which are changing fast because of technology and other factors.

Even though i am not religious myself,i agree that the core values in religion have some value, sadly even religion can be used against people, as we have seen in history, it just takes people willing to use it as an excuse to achieve something potentially dangerous, even if it's done in genuine faith.
@Carazaa Yes. I am a bible Christian, too. It is disappointing to keep seeing the church adapt more and more forbidden and pagan practices.
God chose me for this path. I knew it since I was in grade 4, even that my bones would decay through my whole life because of the sin of my relatives and community.
It is a hard and lonely life because the only things I desire cannot exist until after the King returns and restores everything to where it should be.
I have no choice than to continue as there is nowhete else to go.

@Anonymartyr I meant this for you not accelerator ha ha,
Yes, I totally agree, I think there is a fascist evil wave right now in the world. A non caring about the poor , the homeless, or refugees. But I am a different kind of a Christian. I just read my Bible. And there Jesus says to "love" people. It really is simple.

But this same Jesus who died and rose from the dead 2019 years because He loves us, also said that in the last days, there will be many "false" Christ's that are not true followers of Christ, and men will be lovers of self more than lovers of God. And that is why we see this hate sweeping the world. My Grandma told me about it 40 years ago so I am not surprised now. God bless you, so don't stop!❤️💞

@Anonymartyr Yes it is hard, but there needs to be people like you, so one day at a time. God is watching!🌤️
Carazaa · F
@Anonymartyr Are you in the USA or where?
@Carazaa Canada.
Carazaa · F
@Anonymartyr What! Canada? I thought Canada had it pretty good?
@Carazaa Media lies.
My free health care ended at diagnosis. There are no medications covered. They used all the medical applications for marijuana in order to legalize it and it has a few useful applications for me according to my nurse practitioner and the Cannabis Clinic, but again there is no coverage. Rent is so high that a crippled person cannot afford to live alone. Canada stopped being Canada and became the 51st state of the USA back in the 70s.

@Anonymartyr I will pray for you that God will do a miracle for you!

@Anonymartyr As someone who's lived in Denmark most his life, you should maybe consider moving to another country that's at least similar, not that i'm saying it's the perfect society at all, but in terms of healthcare, it is quite extensive. Diagnosis, surgery, operation and recovery in a hospital are all paid for through taxes, even thereapists sometimes. It also applies to unemployed people.
I don't expect anyone would casually move like that, but it is definately a system that helps people in that regard often, despite recent financial cutbacks.
@Axelerator I cannot even move to the next nearest city. Its too expensive and I cannot travel because of the severity of bone and spinal damage.
Axelerator · 26-30, M
@Anonymartyr ah, i'm sorry to hear that, i hope you're able to get some more help over time.
@Axelerator Thats the focus of the change I hope to inspire. When we suffer, it is meant to turn our thinking towards others who are suffering the same circumstance. This is how one knows what God's will is concerning our individual purposes. He puts you in a situation and as faith leads you through it others can follow and learn from your actions and example.
