There is no instant recipe for it.
I would say that if you have been knocked around in life, and were very very hurt, and your reaction was NOT to go out and hurt other people equally, or take revenge, and instead you resolved to yourself that this hurt would never EVER happen to another person through your own actions, then you are probably a black and blue empath, slowly developing into a marginally good person.
