My notes and reflection, so far, from an all-day meeting...

We need to work smarter, not necessarily harder until we find the sweet spot and then own it. And, of course we need to be team players and work hard and play hard. We need to put our time in without expecting constant praise, promotions, and raises. We are a family and we need to start acting like it. By the way, we will be reducing the work force by 10% and asking everyone to justify their jobs by detailing achievements in a monthly progress report. We will start needing everyone to come into the office every day so we can each do our part as part of a larger team. Even individual contributors are part of a team. If you have finished your own assigned work, you should reach out to your co-workers to see if your skills can help them finish theirs. Remember we are a family. And families help each other out. Afterall, for those not affected by the force reductions, work loads will be increasing and, oh, by the way, bonuses will be delayed this year. There's nothing to read into on that. More details will be shared at a later date. Thanks for everyone coming to our all-hands meeting. Now, let's get back to work... because we are a family. 😵‍💫

A family doesn't reduce its membership by ten percent and expect everyone else to justify their existence.
