A genuinely impressive human being

I was reading a story at the weekend about a young guy working on a supermarket checkout who was serving an old woman who, when it came to paying, didn’t appear to be able to. Her card was declined twice and without thinking and without making sure everyone knew about it, the young guy used his phone to pay for the old lady’s shopping. It was only the woman in the queue behind the old woman that spotted what he did.

It’s such a heart warming thought that there’s people out there who are like that.

I honestly believe there are many such decent souls out there. It's so easy to be cynical about humanity, so it's good to hear about the kind, selfless folks among us and what they've done for others. We can't hear their stories too often.

I have to admit, I doubt people first and foremost- but this story made me want to do something good and positive 😎@Rutterman

@Claire2k That's another beneficial thing about hearing of the good deeds by others. They can inspire the rest of us to do good and be better people.

Quite often when I’m in town, I see homeless people and I feel sorry for them and want to offer them some cash, but I’m very nervous about approaching them, some of them look very scary 😟 @Rutterman

@Claire2k That's understandable. I'd be apprehensive about it too.
