I guess that in earlier times people really didn't see themselves as products of someone else's doing. Much more about getting the first meal since days and staying alive long enough to enjoy the many seasons going past. Perhaps I'm talking entirely outside of the box now but I'm at present 52 and that's about 15 years already more than the norm one century before me. I've had good many difficulties and disappointments but a cat's life is just that

Maybe like how they tell young people that college is the key to a better future but then when you find out your degree doesn't mean jack to anyone.
