I Am Not the Person I Used to Be

Why is it that being happy by yourself, never feels as good as when you are happy with someone else? When you're alone, it takes a lot of effort just to not feel like crap! And on the rare occasions when you DO get to experience breif moments of joy, they are usually difficult to sustain.

Once you've been in love, being alone is not an option. It's like your first day of Freshman year, after you've already been a Senior. You've got to learn the ropes all over again, and all the clout you've earned by paying your dues as an underclassmen goes right out the window!

Its like going from a life in vibrant 3D color and crisp Dolby surround sound... To seeing it in garbled 2D black-and-white and hearing the static-ridden sounds of an old CB radio. It's the exact same movie... But experienced in a completely different way.

Moral of the story... If you can't find someone to love, find something, ANYTHING to love... A pet, collecting records, antiques, playing or watching a sport.... Even your own self! Just find something you can put your passion into, or you could lose your ability to love... Your heart IS a muscle after all.

I don't think we're meant to be alone
