Do I want an army of all women? No , I don’t want that anymore than I want all doctors to be men.

@basilfawlty89 I believe in the law too. You have the right to free speech. I don’t believe in discriminating against people, but you shouldn’t have to accept them as the gender they weren’t born with. It should be illegal to beat up a transgender person, but if you want to say that they can’t choose their gender (which they obviously can’t) then you shouldn’t lose your job.

@tarynstillhopes the people who lost their jobs usually discriminated in housing, employment or service. That's not legal and not a free speech issue but institutional prejudice. Free speech is another thing entirely. But by that same token, conservatives should stop trying to silenced me if I state God does not exist. Free speech extends to freedom of and from religion.

If we allow institutional discrimination what's next? No black people allowed?

@basilfawlty89 Actually most employers fire you for speech too. Curt Schilling got in trouble because he trashed the idea of transgender bathrooms

@Abrienda also, I thought conservatives love individuality so much. If so, how is it your concern what someone identifies as? If you don't believe in gender transition, don't get gender reassignment surgery. But it's not up to you or the state or the church to police others.

Similarly you're free not to respect someone's gender identity, but there free to think if you as an asshole and not associate with you. Freedom of association is part of freedom of speech.

@tarynstillhopes citation needed. I just checked and if you mean the baseball player, he wasn't fired, he retired because he's well past the age of playing baseball. Also, his comments about LGBT people were after his retirement

@tarynstillhopes ah you meant from ESPN. Here's the thing, ESPN is not most companies and employee law says if you reflect badly on the company publicly they can fire you. That's capitalism. I thought you lot like capitalism?

I dont believe in the individual's right to confiscate property (no love of indivdual rights there,huh hon?), suppress thought, abolish law, destroy religion.
