is it a good idea to get a cat if you live in a 3rd floor flat

i get lonely a lot as i don't have a support system and have lived alone for 20 years now, i suffer mental problems which are hard to bare as well...and someone in my posts suggested why don't i get a pet?

i struggle to get out because of high anxiety and paranoia, so i don't think it'd be a good idea to get a dog....but i was thinking what about a house cat?

Dogs are better company…a small one can use potty pads instead of regular walks, and will be thrilled any time you’re up for taking them out. Not to mention may help you overcome the anxiety of being out by being there to support you.

That said, if a dog is just not an option then a cat would do well too.
