I just can't understand why people are so into watching sports. I believe the history books of the future will look at humans enjoyment of sports

as a surefire sign of how primitive they were. They are just so mind numbingly boring, a complete waste of time and a distraction. And as George Orwell stated, a tool of control, "Football, beer, and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult."

I mean, just think about golf as an example: people will spend thousands of dollars on clubs and thousands of hours practicing merely to be able to hit a ball into a hole in the dirt. Wow. And then people will actually spend money to watch that. It's just insanity to me.

Hmm? You must damn the Roman Colosseums and their history too. Lets see how long ago was that? Seems long enough to possibly be a natural DNA thing perhaps.

@Gibbon Or, as Santayana would say, a denial of history and having to relive it. Let us not forget that those Roman Games were designed to distract the masses from how the Empire was crumbling all around them from the corruption, nepotism, and repudiation of basic human values. The oligarchs sat in their private seating area among themselves to show off their elitism and determine which competitors lived or died. And in today's world we have the Superbowl in the Superdome with, , , , ,
