People dont seem to understand that their ideas/ideals look different in the macro than they do in the micro
For ex: somebody mentions population control and everyone gets up in a tizzy. For some reason, managing the size of the human population is just apalling to them.
But a lot of these same people are of the mind that there should be no social safety nets, no legislative safeguards against the mass exploitation of the working class, and no limit to the amount of wealth one person nor entity can amass.
Such a world can only be be livable if the amount of people in it is regulated; so that the greed doesn't literally devour everything on this earth.
So that there is room for the greedy to glut themselves and for the haves to war with the havenots.
Having such a system, plus a surplus population, will lead to destabilization and collapse.
And guess what happens after that? The population gets dramatically reduced. The same shit you were crying out against will come to pass except in this case it wont be gentle; it's gonna hurt real bad first.
So yeah, population control is what the micro ideals of unfettered free enterprise and "bootstraps" look like on the macro when applied logically and pragmatically.
