I think that you can successfully do both... my online connections are separate from the In-person ones. The odds of actually, physically meeting the online folks is pretty slim. There are exceptions of course...

I would think if someone has a successful RL whatever, they wouldn't need the escape, specially in a place like this. Sometimes people are used as fillers or bookmarks or fantasies

if you are satisfied with your real life relationships you wouldn't need to escape here . something is missing for most
