A post I make for ALL young people two to three times a year. Please take a moment for consideration.

First off and most importantly remember this if nothing else. QUESTION AUTHORITY! especially if from the pulpit, Law enforcement, state and federal government, Teachers/Professors. Anyone else over the age of 30 who claims absolute certainty should be questioned.

Respect your elders but more importantly, respect yourself. Do not feel diminished by the opinion of others, you have a reason for being here and while it may not be clear to you in time all things will be revealed. Be on the alert for your "Master" teacher, (There may be more than one) Do NOT dismiss quickly the proverbial "Crazy lady on the bus" I met one who I thought was totally looney tunes, turns out she had a masters and doctorate degree from Berkely University she looked totally derelict but had a great wisdom and kindness. She taught me the gift of gratitude and that one word would change my life.

Try to balance lifes hurdles with both intuition, objectivity, sensibility and a dose dose of empathy goes a long way. I have achieved the things I am most proud of using achievable long term goals and measurable objectives. E.G "Given 12 months I will have gathered all the resources needed including materials cost, "How to build a geodesic home from scratch" other information and written resources needed. Using goals and objectives I not only built my three level dome house, I opened my own business, I applied the same methods to my professional life and won recognition for "Best Practices" by the Ca. Dept. of health. Not bragging, just an example of how structuring your life through goals and objectives, you can make most anything become a reality. Young people practicality is important but also DARE TO DREAM. Dare to allow magic into your life be sensible but allow a lot of craziness just to make life fun.

If anyone tells you, they are "aware of your limitations" turn around and run. You have NO limitations or very few not enough to keep you from realizing your dreams.

Dare to grab the ring and take a chance. Take it from an old man who learned the hard way to avoid, "Would have, should have, could have, DAMN why didn't I when I had the chance? Nothing worse than regrets, better to have tried and failed than years of "I wonder what if?"

I'm happier now than when I had an expensive car, a huge old Victorian house, stocks, mutual funds, real estate, etc. Living simply and loving freely are of a far happier lifestyle. I would rather cuddle with my cat than some stock broker I can barely trust.
Seek mostly to be healthy and happy, seek to help others be the same. People aren't as much impressed by your intellect, as they are your listening skills. After several hours of listening to a tale of woe, that person is going to tell others, "Man that guy is really smart and helped me through the awful time"

Keep your spirituality (or lack thereof ) private. In my life I've found the most "Enlightned" the least talkative they are the more I want to ask them. I tend to be suspicious of folks wearing a large crucifix dangling very obviously around someone's neck. I mentally roll my eyes at such a obvious "Spiritual display"

Try and be happy, life is a gift and far too short for anger and resentment. I have to remind myself to withhold judging others when I have my own questionable actions to consider. Laugh and love easily. And thanks for reading this. Have a great day everyone.
