It's the same price for each, breakfast included.
So the basic room is literally the essentials. Bed, tv, shower and it's nicely decorated and modern etc. The expensive room has a king bed, balcony, and is a larger space.

I'd go basic room in the fancy hotel.

Expensive hotels got better service and they're usually pretty gorgeous to walk around in. The most expensive room in a basic hotel is PROBABLY gonna be nicer since you'll get a suite and hottub or whatever, but I love being a fancy dancy hotel.

@CountScrofula Yeah, this is my thinking. The hotel itself from the outside, even. And the 'experience' from checking in, and up to the room. Plus the breakfast the next morning.

@helsbels Right. Unless it's a historical hotel, hotel rooms are all kinda the same. But I don't get to see fancy art or drink an excellent cocktail in the lounge in a Holiday Inn
