have you ever been homeless or been on the verge of being so

if you did, how did you handle it? - i was homeless back in 2003 for a couple of months, fortunately the salvation army hostel took me in and housed me, they were so good, i'll never forget the salvation army.

Had a pretty lean first year or two out of college, especially once loan repayments began. Some of that was how I managed my money at 23 .. learned that lesson and with first raise or two did better. Was never on brink again.

Paid college loans in full .. took driving 5 to 8+ yr old cars and doing holiday and overtime coverage in the labs at the plant along with managing $$ from my raises and initial couple promotions. Not easy .. but hardly life long debt and I borrowed >50% of the cost at about equal interest to today's student loans.

I've never been homeless or on the verge but I just had to say this. Life sucks sometimes. I hate that the world revolves around greed and money. No one should be homeless or hungry in this world there's just too many people. If everyone were to give their fellow man a hand up we could all eat and be comfortable. There's too much hate in the world. Remember simpler times like in the 1800s little house on the prairie where you just picked out a spot of land and built your home with your own hands? How did we get here.

@AngelUnforgiven That all sounds good and easier said than done.

The majority of homeless people have some sort of an addiction.

@SledgeHammer I know and we can't just keep ignoring it.
