Something Is Buzzing Loudly In The Fireplace Shaft…
Not gonna open the doors to find out what it is. Could be a yellow jacket for all I know, they had a nest last summer up on the eaves of the house not too far from the chimney.

@4meAndyou yeah a neighbor would see smoke coming up from the fireplace and call the fire station. Try explaining that to them.
I will tell him to look for yellow jacket nests. He and his friend were working on the back flower bed and dug into a nest of their grubs in the spring. And found a small snakes and two frogs buried down in the dirt too. We’ve already had dirt-daubers building on the siding around the front door and he knocked those down.
