I’d just put a plastic tarp over it. And drip a faucet so the pump runs occasionally to keep heat in it.

@SageWanderer I did consider the dripping faucet. How would you rate that compared to insulation?
@Musicman Not as effective and can raise your bill, even rivers freeze when cold enough.

You can insulate just wrap again with any kind of plastic. Trash bags or grocery bags. Even stretch wrap. I've been on a well in many places and have learned over the years to keep the bathtub filled for emergency water flushing etc .
You can also let the faucets drip to keep the pipes flowing just enough to keep the ground temperature coming

@Gibbon I thought about that. 🙂

Surely you are not the only one on your block street with this problem,maybe ask a neighbor or even ..home depot..reddit might have something..even the township you live in..and google is your friend..good luck

@bookerdana The neighbor wrapped his pipes with towels, but in this rain they are soaking wet. That seems like a bad idea to me.

Pool noodles cut down the length and slip on the pipes. Don't cost much you probably already have some
Musicman · 61-69, M
@kodiac Excellent idea! 🙂
James1956 · 61-69, M
Foam pool noodles would help
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Preformed pipe insulation maybe.
Its foam rubber
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Virgo79 I think that's what I am going to use. 🙂
You can probably find both at your local hardware stores in plumbing.

@NativePortlander1970 Excellent idea! I had forgotten about those. 🙂🙂🙂
