It’s rude for them to expect it. My aunt used to tell me “when people are ballsy, you have to be 10x’s more ballsy.”

I agreed to have a cousin from Sydney stay with me. She arrived with her friend and then soonafter her brother and his friend. I was in a small flat and told them I'd agreed to one, not 4 people and they ended up staying at a hostel and after a few days flying home as they said they couldnt afford to travel and pay accommodation. That was 15 years ago and I havent heard from them since.

I've had people who asked to stay a couple of days, but then it was 5 or 6 and they were making themselves too at home, so I had to ask them to leave...they tried to make me feel guilty, but that is the one time I put my foot down....

Not good. It's rude. To me it's not even right inviting themselves to have coffee without my permission and not even bringing anything to share. More so staying over for a long time. That's a no-no to me.

no...not rude. see what happens if you demand rent and other money for other expenses...they'll leave pretty quick...or if they decide to fork over some dollars kick 'em out anyway
