They're raising our rent. We're f*cked.

All those people saying "jUsT mOvE oUt!"

Yeah it's not that easy when you're barely scraping by with enough to save a little each check, then the landlords fkng raise the rent. There goes anything you may have managed to save. FML

@DearAmbellina2113 Rent will only keep going up. Best thing is to stretch yourself and buy something… anything!!!!! Mortgages go down while rent will never stop going up.

It doesn't look like you've ever owned a house, or have a clue how mortgages work.

And while we're at it, looks like you don't understand how property taxes, insurance, home owner associations and other fees works, especially if you in an area susceptible to earthquakes, floods, fire or any other natural disasters.

@Northwest do you insult people you know nothing about normally?

My comment had to do with in demand areas of which there are many world wide. Realestate especially over the medium long term goes up substantially and provides shelter which you need anyway. Best advice to young people is to get into the market at whatever entry level they can as soon as they can. Rent will only keep going up.

You wouldn’t buy in an are susceptible to

Earthquakes
Floods
Fire.

You certainly would get excellent home insurance if you bought in a riskier area.

I don't care to know a single thing about you, but I will comment on what you said, and the latter, supplemented by this post of yours, continue to demonstrate that you don't know much about the topic.

For instance, this:

My comment had to do with in demand areas of which there are many world wide

is a world salad. Specifically, because, in today's job market, 87% of GenZ cannot scrounge a down payment for a starter home, and over 80% of those who end up buying, do so with help from family.

So your advice missed the mark by several zip codes.

But this gave me a chuckle:

You wouldn’t buy in an are susceptible to

Earthquakes
Floods
Fire.

So you eliminate California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, the Eastern Seaboard, the South...

Those areas...

And this:

You certainly would get excellent home insurance if you bought in a riskier area.

Huh?

Are you seriously saying mortgage payments get lower with time?
