Dont get me started..
Too late. ..the last time i paid rent, it was $950 a month for a 3 bd room house in the hills with awesome view of SF Bay, SF, the bridges, etc.
Before that, it was $575 a month for a 1 br apartment in secure building with secure off street parking, in Adams Point, near the lake
We bought our home in 2000, a little bigger and farther up the hill but less view. Mortgage is $3200 a month for everything, including tax and government homeowners insurance since we all got canceled when the insurance companies quit providing insurance in California.
Here's the capper. ..my property tax is equivalent to $950 a month, which is crazy when you consider that it pays for all the cops and bureaucrats who keep taking away more and more of our freedom in order to make their jobs easier. Most of the people who work for the city, don't live here. They commute in from wherever and treat us all like we're their enemies. It sucks paying that much money every month and the best thing i can expect to get in return is nothing. Gone are the days when nothing used to cost nothing (I almost said nothing was free, but that makes sense two different ways). So basically, even when my home is paid off in 4½ more years, I'll still be paying $950 a month like i had been doing for years before I bought this place
Oh.. and that apartment i used to rent now costs more than my current mortgage, counting everything..
🤔I wonder how they're going to take our homes away from us? ..fire? Eminent Domaine?

@Jayciedubb Have you ever considered voting out everyone in office and starting over?
Jayciedubb · 56-60, M
@Musicman not really. I quit believing in fairytales before I was old enough to vote.
Seriously, the amount of dedication it would take to get any traction would leave me depleted.
Besides, history shows that they will be replaced with people just like them
