Simple plug the sink and mix the taps together. It's not rocket science.
turningthekeys · 31-35, F
@Sroonaka616 that's the grossest thing ever

Since you are renting I doubt you could replace them without the landlord's permission, but what are indeed called "mixer taps" are available from any builders-merchants or stockists of plumbing materials.

They are not attachments on the existing taps though, as I think you are asking for but are very unlikely to find.

Instead a mixer-tap is a complete fitting combining both taps in one unit, fed from both the hot and cold water pipes. They are very common on kitchen sinks, perhaps less so on washbasins.

Anyway separate taps are no more or less "useless" in Winter than mixer-taps, provided they and the pipework are protected from freezing. If that is the problem, you need have the pipes lagged properly.

Yeah if your renting though i doubt you can add to the plumbing.
Im not needed.
Put the plug in and fill with equal amounts or to your desired temperature and then wash your hands

Need a new faucet.

Live the rough life -- put the plug in the basin and mix the water there.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@turningthekeys Jeeze, what a tough life you lead! LOL As to contaminating the water, that dirt is already on your hands/whatever, so you'll be cleaner no matter what you do with the water. You're the one contaminated, not the water.
turningthekeys · 31-35, F
@ChipmunkErnie no. You are just offended for me pointing out it's disgusting. Yes, I do lead a rough life. God forbid someone wants clean hands. Only the privileged deserve it according to you. Basic hygiene should be for us folks who cannot afford housing as well. I am living in conditions people don't even keep their dogs in. Yes, i am indeed living a rough life. And funny how it still goes over your head that stagnant water does not clean hands or body. Lol.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@turningthekeys How do you get stagnant water out of taps that work??? That sounds like fresh water. YOU are the one who sounds spoiled; there are millions of people out there who would LOVE to have running water of ANY kind, not to mention a choice of hot and cold.
The only, (easy push on type), i could find were these:

Im pretty sure you can cut them amd make them shorter
turningthekeys · 31-35, F
@OogieBoogie wowwww. thanks!!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@OogieBoogie Good Heavens! I had no idea those things are still made! Last time I saw one must have been in the early-1960s.
@ArishMell ikr !
Shows how handy they are that they are still around.

I got one for my kids for in the bath.
We had the "two tap" system, and this useful little gasget made it easy to wash their hair.
Monalisasmith86 · 41-45, F
You just turn on both hot and cold taps to get warm water
