How do you turn a house into a home?

I have been living in the same house for 3 years now.
It still doesn't feel like a home.
Yes it is comfortable to live in.
Any changes that I have made to it feel temporary.
I have not got around to painting it.
I do use every room but it feels like I don't quite own the place.
I have got this place fully furnished but it some how feels like I am living in better student accommodation rather than my own home.

It's a state of mind. If you aren't "feeling it" then no amount of paint or furniture will make you feel or see things any different. So it sounds to me like you just don't feel like it's home. And when you don't it just feels cold like it's just 4 walls. Hopefully you will start to feel differently about it. I love my hose I love how my hardwood floors feel on my feet. I'm proud of everything that I put into it. You need to feel that love as well

@Sroonaka616 you have to do what's best for you luv . If it were my mom I would tell her respectfully with love that I appreciate your input but this is my home and this is what I've decided.

the house we bought came with mini-blinds on all of the windows and curtains for most of the windows. It didn’t feel exactly like home till I replaced those curtains.
