How often do you do cupboard inventory?

In the last year I've not really been through my kitchen cupboards.
So I've noticed recently that a few dates on things have expired.

My partner has brought this to my attention as recently he's been going into my cupboards.

During this pregnancy I've not cooked like I used to. Pancakes, cakes, southern fried style chicken haven't been part of my diet. Not like before.
Also out of sight out of mind.

With my OCD, fairly often. But I’m proud to say my canned goods are not alphabetized and I’m still able to sleep at night. 💪

@OlderSometimesWiser thats really good. And it seems you have a healthy relationship with your ocd where you've found some balance.

We just had a complete new kitchen installed, will be stocking up over the next couple of week

@nedkelly Don't forget the Black Pudding!
That Mayonaise jar from '95 had been buggging me, so I dug into the pantry cupboards.
Now I sleep a little easier.
I’ve found some soup at the back that’s expired by three years!
But there’s nothing else that’s going out of date before next year.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales the thing is it's so easy to happen.

Did that a few times when living in my old house. Did come across flour that expired in 2014.

@Wizardry I think that's normal tbh.
We don't have time to be doing this.
It can be a pain stacking task.

It certainly hasn't been done here for at least two years...but I am pretty good at using the oldest things first.
About twice a year I do a solid deep clean on my cupboards where I get annoyed with it all.

A few times this year actually. I have gotten rid of a lot of stuff that's out of date.
