What sort of kitchen cooktop do you have ? Electric (what sort) ? Gas? Something different ?

Mine is a four element standard electric open coil type linked with a normal size fan-foced oven.

The cooktop and oven are quite old and have been here since I started renting the house in mid 2018 (I bought the house last year).

I'm considering upgrading the cooking appliances but have no idea about modern stuff. I can't get gas unless I go for gas cylinders as there is no street gas supply here.

So only feasible option is electric.

@zonavar68 Look. If it still works for you, fine. But my wife was having memory lapses, some years ago, so when the kitchen was up for updating I insisted on the induction for safety. And its been great, once you adjust. Of course, those old electric elements can be replaced. The cooktop is a single unit, so there is that. But so far no bother..😷
