What sort of kitchen cooktop do you have ? Electric (what sort) ? Gas? Something different ?

Mine is a four element standard electric open coil type linked with a normal size fan-foced oven.

The cooktop and oven are quite old and have been here since I started renting the house in mid 2018 (I bought the house last year).

I'm considering upgrading the cooking appliances but have no idea about modern stuff. I can't get gas unless I go for gas cylinders as there is no street gas supply here.

So only feasible option is electric.

Electric induction. We had to got that way when wife started forgetting those things were on or off.😷

@zonavar68 Actually way safer and more accurate to use than gas or coil electric. No chance of burning the house down. But you cant use cheap aluminium or non ferrous pots and pans..A rule of thumb is if a fridge magnet wont stick to it, it wont work..😷
