In the 🔥heat 🔥 of the moment

This morning was very adventurous for me. For some reason my man's nerves in his fingers suddenly stopped working, it made him drop what he held. He held a kettle with boiling water that he had just taken off the stove.

He drops it on the kitchen floor and the water splashes up at his chest and arms as I'm on the other side of the kitchen, witnessing it all. My innate reaction was to run to him but the water on the floor was boiling hot so the island of water kept us apart.

I then ran to the bathroom to soak a towel in cold water that he put on his wounds. And laid dried towels on the kitchen floor so he could move. He took a cool shower then we patched him up.

Because we were so fast to cool him down, and his neck was blessed, he got away with just a milder burn injury and probably won't need to see a doctor. We'll maintain the burn wounds and see how it heals. Hopefully it will heal on it's own.

After this incident we immediately started counting our blessings. This could have ended very differently.

Oh man... Glad he's okay.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Matt85 Yes thank you 💚
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
Please get him checked out.
The wounds will heal but the fingers 100%.
I'd be curious to know if he remembers what happened just before.
A pause, a blank, a moment of panic or was it sudden?

I don't want to startle you but unless he's been using his hands especially more than usual it's time for a check up.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl Yes that's good questions. I will ask him. He has started using them more lately as he games on the pc daily.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl He says it was somewhere in between a pause and a suddenness.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Queendragonfly drs ASAP.

Glad the damage was minimal, as you said could have ended differently.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@SW-User It's tempting but it's probably best that I let doctors do that job instead. 😅
SW-User
@Queendragonfly you guys probably have good Dr’s over there too.

I would be googling it because ours are pretty useless.

So glad , it seems the burns aren't more severe ...

Way to keep your senses and handle it with proper care.. Especially when fearing the worst, its very hard not to panic ..

Hopefully getting positive update soon .
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@BobbyMoeven I've discovered that's a talent of mine. When others panics I'm the calm in the storm.

But then once the storm is over. I can get panic attacks and nightmares real bad.

Yes I hope so and I hope his symptoms are treatable. His just 38 and he's already lost his strength / nerve reaction in his fingers.

Jusus crust!! Use over the counter burn cream if its available. Keep areas affected dry and cool.

Investment in antibacterial ointment is a must. Slather that stuff on.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@AceWarbringer Oh oops, we have done the complete opposite but he seems fine so maybe several methods works 😅

Antibacterial hmm. I think we have such patches! But he took a shower asap so no bacteria
AceWarbringer · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly its for after care. Burns get infected very quickly.

Its important to keep the area covered to keep out dust dirt and lint. All of this can get into the burn and cause serious problems.

I am so glad he is okay. It could have been so much worse. I am glad he is okay. Xx
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@AlyAngel Thank you, me too ❤️
Now I am over protective and don't let him hold anything 😂 it will pass, I'm just a bit paranoid still.
AlyAngel · F
@Queendragonfly your gonna be nervous for a bit it's normal after something like that happens. X
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@AlyAngel Yeah that's true. ❤️
Cosmicmicrowave · 18-21, M
damn that is terrifying
Cosmicmicrowave · 18-21, M
@Queendragonfly me I am sensitive to pain but I am pretty durable though
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Cosmicmicrowave I can ('T) relate

I stub my toe, nipple, elbow, hands, fingers, hips, nose, forehead, butt, basically all hard or big parts, in everything and I react as if I'm dying😂😂😂
Cosmicmicrowave · 18-21, M
@Queendragonfly It could just be that my trauma has made me resilient
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Wow, good news, considering!
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@uncalled4 Yes definitely good news! He's alive and will probably be alright!
