Help!! Which one?

Left or right?

I usually go for the plainest because it leaves more flexibility for different styles of decorating the room.

But honestly, taste is highly personal.

Maybe consider the practicalities.
Which is:
- cheapest?
- easiest to install?
- easiest to sweep/vacuum/wash/keep clean?
- what kind of protective coating does it have or require to prevent stains?
what variations in natural (wax/oils) or synthetic (epoxy, etc) coatings?
most durable?
- least likely of off-gas carcinogenic chemicals from the glues in the plywood?
- easiest to clean and repair?

You could consider other factors too such as:
- acoustic properties - how much does it bounce or absorb sound?
how does it sound when people walk in hard shoes or drag furniture on it?
- fire rating - how flammable is it? would burning release toxic gases?
- how hard is it? will glassware and crockery break easily?

I've installed dozens of laminate and hardwood floors over the years, solid grain always looks the best; knots/blemishes are okay on something like cabinets, but they don't blend well on floors (especially across an entire room), there's always spots that look out of place/unnatural or look like actual damage
Theliberal · 41-45, M
@wildbill83 ok, so left or right? Lol
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@wildbill83 I’m liking that one too 😊
the one on the right. the pronounced seams give it more of a real wooden floor look. just my opinion

Left has no character.

@Miklee02 pfft
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@Miklee02 I think they both are. The left is definitely less busy.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Livingwell which will make it more timeless I think
TexChik · F
Right. We have it at the farm and it looks great, Except ours is commercial grade vinyl , that comes in the planks. Looks exactly like wood, easier to clean , very tough and if you need to replace a piece...just takes a heat gun and a putty knife to get it up.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@TexChik yeah this is luxury plank tile
But thinking left cause it will be run through the whole first floor
Repete · 70-79, M
I like the middle one , it’s much better than the others. 🙃
I cast my vote for the one on the right. Mostly because it looks like my floor.
Arorin · M
Is this a political question? 🤔
Sequoia51 · 70-79, M
The right looks like a better product
SW-User
Right, more character. IMHO
Right. It shows more character with the darker grain.
cuddles1266 · 70-79, M
Both are nice but for me it depends upon the room(s) where it's to be installed.
What is the furniture and color of the walls? If there is an abundance of color in the room go for the more neutral but if the room is monotoned somewhat use the one with variety.
SW-User
I like uniformity....so I like the one on the left, and it will make the floor look bigger. The one on the right with different shades may not look well when there's less light in the room (for example at sundown)..may look too rustic or may make the room look smaller.

🤔............Neither...............but these days, I prefer lighter woods than darker, as I did when I was younger...........
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@Miklee02 🤔......It was........lol........My wife tells me I have great taste in stuff like this.......Every time she chooses, she's like I don't like it. we should have just gone with your choice..........
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Jimmy2016 lol ok ok
I’m leaning toward left …. Classic right?
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@Miklee02 🤔.........Yes, I prefer the left over the right..........
MarineBob · 61-69, M
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@MarineBob I like it but my woodwork is lighter soooo ugh it’s so damn hard
Spnk8 · 36-40, M
But depending on your walls and what everything else around looks like.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Spnk8 my walls

Spnk8 · 36-40, M
@Miklee02 oh ok then id say go with the left one then now that you've shown me the walls and surrounding area.
TBone · M
I like the one on the right best. But with the color scheme of the walls you have, I’d probably go with the lighter color floor.
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
I'd choose the left one (too much of a discrepancy between the light and dark in the right one, IMHO).
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@DragonFruit I’m thinking left too
Livingwell · 61-69, M
Right! Makes room a little busier.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Livingwell but…..
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@Miklee02 ...yes....?? Whatcha thinking?
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Livingwell left 🫤
Timeless and classic
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Right for me.
Similar to what we laid in our kitchen last year
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
If it was me having seen what the walls look like, I think left works best
Adamski24 · 41-45, M
Is it for a opened or closed cupboard?
Spnk8 · 36-40, M
Right i like it! Theres more going on!:)
NatureGuy77 · 56-60, M
Right. More character in the wood grain
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I`m going to say right.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@Degbeme I mean I’m going for timeless sooooo
Left is the right choice
Miklee02 · 51-55, F

Miklee02 · 51-55, F
@GunFinger I do like it but I’m leaning left on this one
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M

ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
