I was trying to buy plywood at Home Depot but the cashier issued a refund for $50

I guess that would be an easy $50 based on his mistake, but of course I pointed it out and he charged me like he was supposed to. I won't even say I'm particularly moral or anything. come to think of it maybe security was watching though. what would you do?

I find cashiers do make mistakes in the money department. In my earlier days, I would keep the mistakes. The last twenty years? I hand it back.
Understanding that the till must tally at the end of the day and maybe the cashier would have to make up the shortfall.
