The tap water in my apartment tastes bad the last month or so...

...I'm tired of buying bottled water.
Should i purchase a walter filter or water purifier for this issue? 🤔

I used to have a Brita water filter for my faucet. I had the chrome one and it broke. Maybe I should've gotten the white one? Maybe it would've been more sturdy. Quite honestly, I'm tired of buying water bottles too. I don't have recycling close to me that would be convenient to toss. I'm not even a recycling person, but it does take a toll tossing all those bottles eventually. And the price adds up. Something else I used to do was fill my pitcher with tap water and put it in the fridge until a friend of mine told me what was in tap water, so I guess I'm looking for other options too. I live in an apartment—super hard water. I guess I might consider getting another filter myself eventually.

@sweetiepoo I’ve had back problems and lugging cases of water or several refillable gallon jugs of water every week is not good for the back. Better to have a filter at home. I have a refrigerator with a water filter and it wasn’t good enough to remove the chlorine taste. One day we had a power outage all day long due to an ice storm and I drank bottled water that day. That night when i slept I could feel my thyroid gland vibrating, it was detoxing. The next day the power was on and I got a glass of water to drink from the refrigerator dispenser and noticed how strong the chlorine taste was. I couldn’t drink the water. That’s why my thyroid was detoxing, I hadn’t had any chlorine-laced water and chlorine messes with thyroid function.

@cherokeepatti Agreed. I usually buy the biggest case. I even considered getting those big 5 or 10 refillable blue jugs at one point.

@sweetiepoo I got a horrible case of sciatica that lasted for 3 months the last time I bought a 36-count case of bottled water. I only get it if the boy is with me, he is taller than me and strong enough to lift them.

@cherokeepatti Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that.

@sweetiepoo Well that experience alone makes it worth buying a good in-home water filter. I bought those bottles of water for an emergency in case the water is off for awhile.
