Good to have that option on the table as will deter some behavior issues from occurring, but I am not for wholesale use. Over use anything becomes ineffective.

@SW-User I think it in All honesty boils down to each child as their own. Individual. I have one who is completely unfazed and will act out more and it's not worth it, and another who responds well..... I responded well to it 🤷

@Rosiechick13 It's just not a good tool at all. It's better to actually have a punishment that isn't violence based, and properly teach them right from wrong. Doubly so if they were born with something like ADD/ADHD/Autism/etc.
