back in the 50s and 60s we didn't own a dryer - so everything went outside to dry.
I don't know what part of the world you live in - perhaps it was considered immodest - but I don't see a problem with it.
given your age - I'd be concerned that a pervert would come and steal them... but it's not rude to dry your clothes outside.

I’d guess that it was more to do with her husband asking her to wear underwear like that and her refusing

No it is not acceptable. The proper way to dry under garments on a out side line is to cover them up with a terry cloth towel and them cover the towel with a wool blanket. Better yet under garments should be dried in a locked closet or pantry. (just goofing around) Cheers and happy weekend!

The line is the most natural way to dry clothes. Ignore him .i very much doubt if his kids are taking a keen interest on what smalls you wear ....take care

One of my favourite things is to see ladies bras and panties drying on the clothes line 🔥🔥

I think it depends where you live. If you’re in a rural area. It seems to be OK. But it’s not a good look for more of a suburban area, Especially if that area is a little more upscale

It’s your property, your right to dry them as you wish!!
Do they put blinders on their kids when the take them shopping? In the store the goods are at eye level!!

Unbelievable! What planet is your neighbour from! Not quite the weather today (14th December 2022) to be drying laundry outside though!

Totally ok to dry your clothes outside. It’s the environmentally friendly choice.

Tell your neighbour to piss off , that’s what a clothes line is for

Tell the neighbor to pay for your taxes... then she has the right to say what you can and can not do on your property. That is the biggest problem with the world... people can’t mind their own business. Kids don’t give a shit what you are hanging on the line... they are kids. Tell her to go scratch

some of my UK pals,, say many of your neighbors might be too prudish
