How to repair laminated wood?

There's a hole in my living-room table (by IKEA) which I'd like to get fixed.

Since you care enough to want to fix a product that is not very valuable, like Ikea, then do it the right way. Go to your local lumber supply and see if they will give you a bit of sawdust. Then purchase a pint of wood stain in the same color as the hole. Purchase a can of polyurethane spray in the same finish as the table, ie: satin, or gloss. Then purchase a small tube of wood putty and three sheets of sandpaper, coarse, medium and fine. Mix the sawdust, the wood putty, and the stain with a paint stick or any item you can discard afterward. Use more wood putty than sawdust, while creating a mix that is pliable. The amount of stain should be enough to match the table color.

Fill the hole with a putty knife and your putty sawdust mixture and allow it to dry 24 hours. When completely dry, sand the area gently with a bit of the coarse sandpaper, followed by the medium sandpaper, and the fine sandpaper.

The hole should now be far less noticeable. If you are satisfied with the color and the appearance, block off the areas with some masking tape, and lightly spray it with the polyurethane spray.

Depends on how big a hole really and how professional of a job you want done. A non professional quick fix for a small hole would be just to apply some epoxy. Yet that's a trailer tash fix.

Fill the hole with chewing gum and then cover the table with a table cloth.

Put a table mat on it 😜
