@QueenChaspick All my life my cats were indoor cats and quite content...what do you think is so hard about it?

@Spokeskitties75 I had a cat and we'd help keep each other warm. She had been feral and it took time to tame her down. One day she jumped up on the sofa and wedged herself in the gap between my leg and the end of the sofa to stay warm so I started giving her one of my crocheted afghans to lay on.

Update: I have indeed turned my heating on 🙄😂

Had to a couple weeks ago, it's been colder than usual in October...there have been times I didn't need to turn it on till mid-November

@QueenChaspick When my daughter was living in apartment one winter her roommate moved out leaving her holding the bag for rent & utilities. Natural gas prices shot up that winter and her solution was to spend $100 on a down comforter, and she'd leave the heat off letting the neighbor's heat on either side of her apartment help insulate her apartment...come home and cook something, turn the heat up for about 30 minutes to warm up the apt a tiny bit and then turn it back off. She did that all winter and told me the gas bill was low.

Aww no, I hope this winter doesn’t get too bad for you.
I was hoping that I could do the same as your daughter for a bit longer, but I don’t have anyone on either side of my flat, so the heating is only coming from above and below me ☹️@cherokeepatti

@QueenChaspick An apartment below you is helpful because heat rises, I guess it depends also on how hot they heat their apartment. I knew someone who lived in the old university apartments and said their neighbors below them get their apartment so hot that it warmed theirs up and they had to turn off their heat and open windows (probably had a baby and people from hot climates will do this when they live in an all-bills-paid apartment). If you are allowed to put anything on your windows, bubble-wrap can be taped over the glass and it will help insulate them. It's clear so it allows light in.
