What secret did your parents keep from you? (50s)

A secret which was only revealed to you many years later?
When I applied for my Birth Certificate I found out that I had two brothers who died in childbirth in the late 50's
It was never mentioned at all.

Hmm.. a couple years ago my mom told me that there were complications when she was pregnant with me and that she started bleeding. Apparently the placenta was half dead and she was going to abort me but decided to give it a last try.. and so here I am
