Liberals don't care about public safety. They just use shootings as an excuse to regulate guns.

@revenant Because cars are also useful for transporting people and things long distances quickly. What else is a gun useful for besides killing people and/or animals?

@revenant Hunting = killing animals. Even if you just shoot targets, basically you’re practicing for killing something. It’s not about blame. Of course the person is to blame for the deaths, but the shooter wouldn’t have been able to kill so many people so quickly without his AR-15. It would be the socially responsible thing to do to make AR-15’s harder to get so that the whole mass murder situation is less likely to happen so we won’t have anyone to blame.

@JP1119 sorry my father was in the military and was way too old to kill anybody and yes people enjoy target shooting. As to animals that depends on your world view also. Sure perhaps machete or acid throwing will be best next time.

@revenant There are other things you can shoot targets with, you don’t need the most efficient killing machine. Machete or throwing acid will be best for what next time? For a mass murder? Yeah, I bet if that kid had had a machete or a bucket of acid we still wouldn’t have been able to stop him from killing 17 people. And machetes aren’t really conspicuous anyway, I bet nobody would have noticed him carrying a machete and been able to take it away from him.

@revenant Try a truck for what? As a weapon for mass murder? Because trucks aren’t used for transporting people and things, nobody ever uses a truck for anything besides killing. And I bet it’s super easy to kill 17 people by driving a truck into a school.

@revenant I don’t make a point of deliberately seeking out European news, but I pay attention when world news comes on. Why?

@revenant A truck still brings it around to the original point made and that's because a truck isn't originally made for killing things which guns are.

There was a ban on assault weapons that didn't get renewed thanks to republicans, yet now it's easier to get an assault style weapon than a hand gun or even a beer... for 18 year olds. In some states you can't own a handgun until 21.. but you can own the most popular gun that has been used in nearly every school shooting.

Surely a little gun control wouldn't be all that bad.
