After having my wood floors damaged by a broken water heater, I'm seriously considering changing the floor to LVP....as it holds up better to standing water, but looks like wood rather than looking like vinyl.
I didn't necessarily hold this viewpoint before my wood floors were damaged, but LVP now looks like a potentially viable option.

The place I'm living in currently has it. I like it. It's easy to clean.

Junk - suitable for a basement...
I used to race on a custom built ocean racer that had a solid hardwood cabin sole...
So when it came to rebuilding our boat I fit a solid hardwood cabin sole into it.. Best floor I have ever seen in a boat.. Seven seasons later ... its perfect.. I have a custom fit wool carpet runner on top of it to protect the floor - it shows on either side.... I put a solid maple floor in our bedroom.. Solid wood has a quality and luxury that is unmistakable...

@pdqsailor1 oh yeah they don't make things like they used to .. a lot of things are plastic these days .. when we built our house it was 2020 so a lot of things were shut down because of the virus when we went to buy a stove they didn't have it and said they were out as the factory was down so we ended up getting a stove and dishwasher and a microwave from some people who were remodeling their house and also some scrap carpet.. for free the carpet that is they sold us the stove and other things for 300$ which was less than the 400$ stove was new that we were going to get but wasn't there.. so that worked out and saved us money.. i really don't like the depth of the cabinets we bought for the kitchen as they are really shallow you cant even put a pot in it or it wont close .. i had to shrink the size of my end cabinets because my husband wanted a bigger fridge so now the one at the north side of the kitchen is 13” instead of 15” i intentionally wanted space between my stove and fridge .. i don't like when home builders or flippers cram stoves in corners or right up against things like a fridge or anything.. it’s like they don't cook at all and don't give the cook space or elbow room 😒 anyway my kitchen takes up a third of the house now along the back wall because it’s just a small house and i wanted a full size kitchen with a massive sink for washing the roasting pan for thanksgiving.. i had a split sink at my last house and it annoyed me to try to wash a large pan in it. I had a really nice sink faucet but it got clogged up with sand when our well had a leak in the food valve and kept pumping water constantly stirring up sand.. it plugged up all our faucets at the time and my original one started leaking when i tried to clean it i didn't know the internal line had come unscrewed and that was why.. and i had to get a new one.. which is a bummer .. i fixed it now but it’s just annoying to re instal it.. i wonder if i should anyway or just leave it be.. it’s much prettier than the one i have now.. i got a simple one so i wouldn't have problems again but my original one was cooler looking.

@GoFish The galley revisions I did to the boat made this tiny space more functional than my kitchen at home.. The oven is an air fry microwave that has a resistance element in it and can roast or bake... then is dish storage and I have room for both sets of dishes... and further along spice storage and dish soap.. on the counter is the single sink the dry goods locker behind it... then counter and the top opening access for the refrigerator .. Under the counter there is a huge drawer where the induction cook top stores plus three trays for the meat cutlery and the utensils for cooking.. under that drawer is the dishwasher and soap storage locker.. to the right is a drawer for dairy cutlery and under that two deep drawers for the food processor and coffee percolator, food wrap, then the pots and pans drawer.. they all nest and fit inside that drawer with their lids - very organized... The sink has a foot pump, running potable water and running lake water.. I clear the table and sit on the bottom step as I load the dishwasher.. Same with unloading it - I sit down - takes seconds... its the most comfortable and efficient galley I have ever seen on a boat and as I said I prefer cooking there to doing it at home...

@pdqsailor1 oh nice.. i haven't done so much cooking lately as my hub has himself on some sort of "diet" so bit lately i got a small casserole dish that i make macaroni and cheese on in the microwave then i add broccoli or spinach in it .. it's pretty good i can make a whole box of noodles in it.. and half the time i eat the whole thing which probably isn't good but i have a weakness for pasta .. i love spaghetti but haven't made it lately
