While reading on interior designs I saw a history of the conversation pit.

Becoming a feature in the 1950s it peaked in the 1970s.

This is from a 1966 article showing teens hanging out.

This is from an early 1970s article showing a sound system featuring a turntable to the left, a tape deck to the right, a keyboard in the center, along with the brightly colored furniture.

I am in a bit of a fascination phase with the conversation pit.
What do you think of it?

Im not sure.. i saw the property bros fill one in once on one of their shows tho

@onrealityofdreams yeah they wanted a flat floor.. i thought it was a pity to waste all that space (filling it in) 😅
