@GuyWithOpinions it's a three seater island bar in a open kitchen and living room floor plan it will be basically the center of the kitchen.

@WoWgirll hmm.. the blue then would make the room quite dark but you can counter that with good lighting. Might also give it a modern vibe. Could you add a wine rack or aomething underneath the tip of the island? Or a storage shelf.

A lighter color might off set the darkness of the room too. Especially if it's a center piece. Maybe a plant or herb hydroponics against the wall side of the island?
