Do you have a guardian of some sort, like a public administrator or a family member who has been given authority over you? Then yes, that can happen.
Did you check into a nursing home for some reason of your own recognizance based on a doctor's recommendation? Then probably no, the home doesn't have the authority to keep you against your will.
