Let me rant about home, again

It's hard to grow up in a family where favoritism is existing. I grew up invalidated my feelings by my parents. For my mother, there is only one opinion that matters, that's my brother.

It's not a big deal to me to pay my family's bills and buy food for "everyone". But most of the time, all the foods I bought was consumed, and I haven't even tasted it. I feel so drained for working extra hours and not getting empathy. I just want to eat the meat I bought and marinated last night, but when I found the one last piece, my mother stopped me and says its for my brother. Now I told her some things we need to do to spend money efficiently, because her retirement fund went on my brother's computer, phone, and other gadgets. But she's mad at me now. I sold my laptap to buy a printer and a samsung tablet, because our printer is in my brother's room and we can't almost use it. Also, my employer provided a new laptop, that's why I think I don't need my personal laptop anymore. My brother saw my new printer and tablet, now he is forcing my mother to buy him also. And guess what, my mom agrees.

I love my family so much, but I want to break free at the same time.

Oh my goodness. That's horrible 馃槶 my blood boils just reading this. You could perhaps work out boundaries with the fam. Helping with necessities but luxuries jeez? I knew we never had the kind of money to budge my parents about buying gadgets or gaming stuff or anything. That shi.t expensive. So we never asked. Your brother needs to understand how finances work and it's your parents' job to help him understand. You need to put to your foot down. It's for the greater good. You need to claim your space.

@assemblingaknob we are actually below medians. Sometimes my mom would ask my aunt's help to buy my brother's wants. I got few money because I bake at home and sell it + the salary I got from my employer. If I only have enough money to support my family and and to rent an appartment at the same time.

@sugarpie I see from your other comment you're the youngest? I thought the brother would be. 馃ズjeez.
There is nothing wrong with supporting family. But other siblings should contribute too. You could help out aging parents, but other siblings have working limbs, they should make themselves useful and contribute! The world only goes around on mutualism. There's give AND take. It's essential for survival.

@assemblingaknob thank you for listening. My posts here are quite tiring because most of them are my rants or things that I can't say in actual life
