Is it ok to have the house in a small bit of a mess?

I do my own house work but I find myself with having an empty beer bottle on the coffee table or a takeaway menu left on the dinning room table.
I guess I like my place feeling like it is lived in.

Clutter often stems from nesting habits and creating a secure-feeling environment, so I don't think you're wrong.
