Leaving electrical appliances on for hours

As I rose this morning at 5.50am, venturing into the kitchen, I hear a noise and look towards the stove.
I notice the electric hotplate is on.
I used it 14 hours ago and left it on mark 4.
Slight rise in the power bill next time.
I was surprised by my last power bill and how small it was considering I have used the heater for many hours over winter.
Lucky you…I had a small fire in the kitchen yday…😱
@Gusman How can I clean my lungs? 😩

@Vivaci Abstinence will eventually clear your lungs. The sooner you start, the sooner they will clear. 🙂
@Gusman I don’t smoke though!

I’ve done it with the burner on my electric stove, I always say “Dammit” when I turn it off.

@cherokeepatti Dammit !

Thats a lot of time - easier said than done but I always try and check at night everything is off.
Time to go outside and reverse that electric meter for an hour or two 😉

My roommate goes away for the weekend and leaves on her fan and the air-conditioner. She's 25, I doubt she has ever had to pay an electric bill. It is usually about $25. Last month after she had the air-conditioner on 24/7 it was $60.

@hunkalove Yes, it can become expensive when we forget to switch things off.
