Veteran's day isn't a "Happy" Day

Every year we honour our Veterans for their service on this day, the 11th Of November, for most of us who served it isn't a "Happy" day, it is a day of remembrance, a day of solemnity, a day to reflect, remember and honour our fallen Brothers and Sisters with respect. There is nothing "Happy" or celebratory about this day so please don't wish Veterans a "Happy Veteran's Day" as there is nothing "Happy" about this day. A simple "Thank you for your service" is a much more appropriate way to say it.

You couldn't be any more wrong if you tried. Veterans Day is honor veterans for their service. Memorial day is to honor those who gave it all for their country.

@anythingoes477 Right, so you think today is a happy day and we should be setting off fireworks and eating hot dogs?
@spjennifer YES........as a veteran I think it's great to celebrate our veterans.

@spjennifer OK. Bet he won't be eating hot dogs at a Veterans Day BBQ though.
