Happy New Year! 2024

I had a really good day today. One of the first things I heard was a Robin singing its heart out. It made me feel like spring was near even though it’s cold here. Then I got up and went shopping and took the boy to help me load things. Was going to buy food & health stuff with my insurance spending card and a few other things like cat food for the feral cat. I bought all of that. Then we found the clearance aisle and bought a lot of big cans of popcorn, Pannetone breads, packs of socks for the boy and some other snacks all 75% off…. When we got home I made mac and cheese for both of us, ate and looked at my receipt. They had charged full price for one of the multi-packs of socks. Told the boy we needed to go back and get a refund. So we did and I also told the boy to get more of those foods on clearance since he can take them to share with his friend’s while at the school’s coffee shop and for school parties. So he got a lot more of it. It was a good day for me since I have only been to 2 stores last month and got in and out quick since I’ve been sick so much and basically house-bound except for visits to the doctor and for treatment. Stuff like shopping is something I never thought I would have to cut back on. Also went to Aldi and bought some groceries. Took a rest and then started a roast beef with veggies for dinner. The boy kept bragging on how good it tasted and I admit it did taste good, must have been some really good beef. So I’ve had a great day. I feel good and told the boy tomorrow I want to take him to lunch at my favorite Thai restaurant and get the lunch specials for us. And buy a large coconut-chicken soup for dinner. Then he goes back to school on Thursday.
