I am letting go of my bestfriend for 6 years now.

I'm sorry for posting this. I just need to vent.
Friendships sometimes have a best before date. It is sad to let go, but you to. If the friendship has a strong foundation, maybe your best friend will come and find you again one day.

I had to let go of mine of 8 years about a year and a half ago. My sincerest sympathies, I imagine you're in a fair bit of grief right now.

I formerly announced to a former best friend that she and I needed to part ways. I had become a housewife and a married woman, and she had become some married man's mistress. I didn't tell her that was why...but I couldn't reconcile her lifestyle with mine any longer.

Sometimes letting go is the healthiest thing for us in the long run. It still hurts.

I know it's hard.... But some things have to be done for mental peace.

@assemblingaknob just so true

We need to make choices that reduce stress in our lives.
Wishing you all the very best

I had a best friend that I had known since I was about 9. When we were about 19 he joined the police force and started to communicate less. Eventually he just stopped coming around. Not heard from him now for over 35years.
He obviously cannot be bothered and to be honest it's no great loss.
sugarpie · 26-30, F
@CommandLine is he still alive?
CommandLine · 56-60, M
@sugarpie I assume so, he was about 9 months younger than me. I know he was going to move. To be honest, I haven't missed him, he was a bit of a fair weather friend in the end.

You have no need for apology.

@sugarpie memories can be retained. As long as you keep bad feelings away.

@SW-User the reason why I want to keep my distance
SW-User
@sugarpie it makes perfect sense to me.

Hopefully it's for the best moving forward
sugarpie · 26-30, F
@Viper It's just hard because we're three best friends, then the other one left us, now I'm alone
Viper · M
@sugarpie well there must be a reason you are leaving them...
sugarpie · 26-30, F
@Viper the first one actually stopped from schooling. And the other one's partner doesn't like me that much. It's okay tho. At least I didn't do the same. But if they came back, I might choose my peace of mind.
