@dirge trouble is I've got three already 😳
I wondered about a nice pen as she writes regularly to people.
Trouble with that is it's messy having ink refill replacements and once they go out of production....

@Picklebobble2 just claim to be doing the icelandic book flood tradition. then the skys the limit on books

@dirge seems like a bit of a cop-out though. Like i lack the imagination to consider something different 🫤
dirge · M
@Picklebobble2 i guess. unless you read along at a similar pace and make it something you can talk about all through the year

@dirge Trouble with books is that they accumulate rapidly !
And i suspect others may decide to send others.

@Picklebobble2 yeah, I tend to prefer digital books, but sometimes physical is the only way to go. harder for digital books as gifts.

@dirge I bought her a Kindle years ago but she said the background lighting used to give her a headache if she read for more than a few minutes

@Picklebobble2 weird... the fire tablet or the kindle reading device? the kindle eink/paper versions shouldn't do that.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@dirge Oh it was a Fire i think. She's definitely a 'technophobe'. 😆
Won't upgrade her phone.
Doesn't want to download anything digital since it often requires subscription and she doesn't think she'd use it to make the expense worthwhile...which is probably true.
