Our tree came down today

Or at least I took the lights off and put it in the garden. It still looks green and fresh after two months, so we picked a winner this year 馃巹

The days are getting longer and my dread of dark winter is slowly receding as the snowdrops and daffodils appear and the first buds are visible on the trees.

[c=BF6900] In early spring I can hang upside down in my garden on our monkey bars again without freezing! I'll of course still use the gymnastics bar in the living room but it is sooo nice to be outside in my bare feet with a Disney t-shirt and shorts hanging upside down by my knees on a warm day looking at the perspective of a blue sky at my feet and the green flowery grass below my dangling arms with the warm sun making me feel extra cosy while I'm hanging upside down admiring the inverted flowery view of my garden!

@SunshineGirl [c=003BB2] I actually LOVE hanging upside down a little bit more outside rather than inside! Reason being the bright blue sky looks magical and the inverted perspective looks even more cool outside! It is pure magic when the blue sky and green grass has swapped places! 馃グ馃グ馃グ Look at these views! And seeing people look like they are walking on upside down grass looks pure magic! 馃ぉ馃ぉ馃ぉ [/c] [c=359E00] GYMNAST HEAVEN IS A WARM DAY OUTSIDE ON THE MONKEY BARS!

@MommyLucy The 1st, 3rd and 4th pictures look like you could jump off the bar and go swimming in the sky if you had a swimsuit!

@SunshineGirl [c=008099] This is another reason why I LOVE hanging upside down! The perspective of what you see with your eyes especially outside on a sunny day is pure magic!

Save wood, I could use it for firewood next winter
SunshineGirl36-40, F
@HumanEarth I can't burn conifer in my stove as it creates a lot of soot. I took it to the beach. They use them to reinforce the sand dunes that might otherwise blow away in the winter storms.

That's a good use for it

I was just talking about that very thing yesterday with a friend of mine as we drove around in the evening and noticed how many people still have their outside Christmas lights still on until midnight each night! ...and that's in Canada.

We have an old saying here in Canada. You can always tell who the rednecks are in your neighborhood by the houses that still have their Christmas lights turned on in the middle of June!

@swirlie It's cheerful. We need all the light we can get at this time of the year, so it seems a shame when people are in a rush to take the Christmas lights down.

@SunshineGirl
I agree! Just remember that the Christmas Lights Police in every neighborhood are out in full force come June 1st!
