Musical instruments...not the toy ones but something really nice... some things people never think of are really cool for different ages and boy or girl. Some of the neat ones aren't even very expensive... $20 - $40, depending on what a person wants to spend.
EDIT: Kalimba, xylophone, pan drum.... very cool instruments for all ages and boy or girl... nicer ones are around $40
