It will be a nice Christmas

I have off work from the 23rd to the 5th, returning to work my first night shift on the 5th.

Some of that is with pay, some at 12 hour pay.

I'm going to just enjoy the time off, work on some crochet and relax.

In all my years of employment I’ve never had a holiday break like that, and honestly no jealousy, but glad to hear you get that kind of break. Sounds like it should be a good “me” time break for you.

@SageWanderer I used to get a paid break between Christmas and New Year's day when I worked for the union. This time off is mostly without pay because the facotry will be shut down and I am out of PTO. I wish people would realize if they had a union, they'd not have to use their own PTO during these shutdowns, but no one seems to get it.

@FoxyGoddess The unfortunate part of my job was we still had to keep heat in the furnaces so someone had to be there. I’m sure we could start a big discussion about the benefits of being unionized all I can say is my retirement is quite good because of it.
