@whowasthatmaskedman No pictures of Mandurah as over the years I have posted plenty. Let's face it, seaside towns look mostly the same. What I bring you today is my experience in the bush of south west Western Australia. Today I visited Wellington Dam situated in the Collie River Valley.

First stop was at Honeymoon Pool. In the Wellington National Park, beautiful beyond belief, it is natural pool surrounded by Peppermint, Jarrah and Marri trees along the Collie River. Being a cool temperate forest, it is noticeably cooler in the valley than the surrounding countryside. The coolness and moisture allows moss to grow on standing and fallen trees. Making the scenery, at least to me, spectacular. Moss covered fallen Jarrah/Marri logs.

There is a tree growing here with a rather weird name. Snottygobble - Persoonia Longifolia. Found only in the Jarrah forests of South Western Western Australia. Small tree - up to 5m, 16 feet tall, with flaky bark. Named so because between the skin and the seed is a sticky stringy mucusy substance which looks like snot!
