Not everyone comes from a happy family. Thanksgiving was a miserable day in my family. Usually by afternoon my father was looking for a victim and it was usually me until I was old enough to fight back.

My favorite too!
We are preparing a number of vegetable side dishes as well as apple pie. My wife make a killer flaky pie crust, and I have recently switched to a cooked apple pie filling that I have high hopes for.

I just wish it weren’t connected to the Pilgrims here.
One of my friends, who is Chumash, celebrates it as "Feast Day" and grew up with it called that. And basically it’s still celebrated with loved ones gathering for a great meal.
